Etiquette & Procedures
On the court
- Annual subscriptions must be paid before playing (a levy will be added if not).
- Club play for Adults (and juniors who have been invited) is on Wednesday evenings from 19:00 – 22:00 hrs.
- Do not bring bicycles, skateboards, roller-boots etc. onto the playing area.
- Court bookings should be honoured by those who have not booked. Booking evidence should be shown if required.
- Court bookings should be made for a maximum of 2 hours on any one day to allow fair access to all members.
- League matches – Tournaments and club coaching have priority.
- Members who wish to play in the club teams should inform team captains.
- Guests playing with members - please put £2 in the letterbox.
- Floodlights are £4.00 per hour – per court, by arrangement on non-Club night.
- A maximum of 4 balls should be taken on court (except during an organised coaching session).
- During social play, when courts are not booked, please include any waiting members in doubles games as opposed to playing singles. Playing 7 games and changing in, will allow more play for everyone.
- If balls stray across another court, please wait until a point has finished before retrieving them. If matches are on, please wait for balls to be returned.
- During club sessions, the chalk board should be used. Add your name to the end of the list on arrival and when you have finished a game (winners first). The next player to pick can choose any other 3 players from the next 8 in the line. A player who has just arrived does not have an automatic right to an early game.
- Only coaches who are members of the club and have been approved by the committee may coach at the club (see profiles).
- Slacken the net on leaving the court.
- Lock the gate on entering and leaving, to discourage non-members from using the courts and to support health and safety considerations.
Off The Court
- There is no dress code, but please wear proper footwear that will not mark the courts.
- Have your membership card with you at all times.
- Do not give your key to non-members.
- Dispose of litter responsibly (and that includes chewing gum!).
- If you do not renew your membership you will be asked to return your key.
And finally ...
- Please behave in a responsible manner at all times – both on and off the court.
